Brewing Guide

1

Quick Blurb

For medium & light roasts we like to brew with near-boiling water, just off the boil. For darker roasts, 195°-200°, or about a minute off the boil, works very nicely. We’ve found that a total brew time of 2:30-2:45 typically tastes very sweet and balanced overall and have noticed a more pronounced sweetness and clean finish when combined with the “faster” brew time compared to many pour over brewers.

2

Prepare the Filter

Place the filter into the pourover and rinse well with hot water. Then, discard the water.

3

Add Coffee Grounds

Pour your coffee grounds into the filter, then shake gently to even out the bed of grounds.

4

Initial Bloom

Pour 100g over the grounds, spiraling from the center to the outer edge and back. Let the coffee "bloom."

5

Begin Pouring

  • At 0:45, pour to 200g
  • At 1:15, pour to 300g
  • At 1:45, pour to 400g
6

Finishing Touch

Give the Pourover a gentle tap to even out the coffee bed and let it drain completely.

7

Total Brew Time

The total brew should take between 2:45 - 3:00
